We've updated our Distribution Database to show the presence of the little fire ant in American Samoa.

Little fire ants have been confirmed on Tutuila, American Samoa. In an effort to prevent this invasive ant's spread to Samoa, MNRE and MAF have temporarily stopped all imports of fresh flowers and other plant material into Samoa from American Samoa, Hawai'i and Guam and other countries that have the little fire ant, such as New Caledonia, Tahiti, Wallis and Futuna, Papua New Guinea, Vanuatu, and the Solomon Islands.

An eradication programme is being planned.
